Yufuin Summer Camp

So few posts lately! I have been busy, what with friends staying and a, English summer camp the last 4 days.

Set in the resort town of Yufuin high up in the mountains, every year 150 or so high school students (mostly girls) come for a three day themed camp. The camp was the first major thing I did when I first arrived in Japan 1 year ago and it is a good introduction to the life of a clown English teacher.

This year the theme was Harry Potter. The camp consisted of workshops and end event with a play, skits, and a dance. I helped conduct the art workshop this year.

The camp concluded flawlessly with me worn out. 15 hour working days and provided adult beverages, combined with previous 10 days of company, left me drained. I came home on Friday and slept for the next 15 hours. It was fun though and I was able to meet a few of the new JETs. Now I have a bit of down time until my next planned adventure (more later…..).
